High1 Ski Guide, Jeongseon — Slopes, Gondolas, Tickets

High1 Resort in Jeongseon: a 1,376 m Valley Top, a 4.2 km run, Korea's only three-gondola ski area, the 2024 Youth Olympic alpine venue, ticket and rental prices, and Jeongseon food.

High1 is Kangwon Land's mountain resort in Jeongseon and the only ski area in Korea with three gondolas (the Woontan-godo cable cars). Long runs drop from the 1,376 m Valley Top, the 2024 Gangwon Youth Olympic alpine races were held here, and the hotel, casino and indoor water park share the same complex.

The mountain: Two summits — Mountain Top (1,340 m) and Valley Top (1,376 m) — feed the Zeus, Victoria, Hera, Apollo and Athena run groups. The 4.2 km easy route from Mountain Top via Valley Hub to Valley Condo lets beginners ride down from the top. There are two World Cup-homologated slopes, moguls and a terrain park, and High1 ran Korea's first ski school for disabled skiers.

Tickets and rentals: The official fee table lists timed tickets at ₩66,000 for 3 hours, ₩73,000 for 4 and ₩86,000 for 7, and a full-day ticket at ₩111,000 (adult); 2026-27 prices have not been announced. A full rental set is ₩54,000 for the day, and helmets are free. Grooming runs 16:00–18:00. High1 is part of the 2026-27 X6+ Season Pass.

Getting there: The nearest railway stations are Gohan and Sabuk — neither is a KTX stop. By car it is about 2 hours 30 minutes from Seoul. Ski buses are run by regional operators under contract, not by High1 (Seoul and Gyeonggi: Daewon, 02-2201-7710; foreigners book at high1.rideus.net). A loop shuttle runs inside the resort.

Was High1 a 2018 Olympic venue? No. The 2018 speed events were at the separate Jeongseon Alpine Centre on Gariwangsan. High1 hosted alpine skiing and moguls at the 2024 Gangwon Youth Olympics and housed the Youth Olympic Village.

Is it good for beginners? Yes. The 4.2 km easy route from the top and long beginner runs such as Zeus I (2,328 m) make it one of the better beginner mountains.
