Muju Deogyusan Resort: a 1,520 m summit with 810 m vertical, the 6.1 km Silk Road run, sessions from dawn to midnight, the gondola to Hyangjeokbong's rime ice, plus Muju eojuk and Taekwondowon.
Booyoung Group's Muju Deogyusan Resort is the big ski area of Jeonbuk province, using 810 m of vertical from Seolcheonbong (1,520 m) on Deogyusan. Its signature is the 6.1 km Silk Road run from the top; ride the gondola up and walk on to Hyangjeokbong (1,614 m) to see the winter rime ice.
The mountain: Silk Road, the 6.1 km beginner-to-intermediate run from Seolcheonbong, is ideal for newer skiers who want a long descent. Other long runs include Seoyeokgihaeng (3.4 km), and lifts such as Ssangssang, Chorus, Harmony and Muju Express plus the gondola link the mountain. Altitude gives this southern resort a long season — it ran until March 22 in 2025-26.
Gondola and Hyangjeokbong: The sightseeing gondola climbs 2.659 km to Seolcheonbong (1,520 m); from the top it is about 20 minutes (about 600 m) on foot to Hyangjeokbong (1,614 m), Deogyusan's highest peak. An adult return is ₩25,000, and weekend and holiday rides need booking from October to February.
Getting there: The resort shuttle was suspended and resumed on September 1, 2026 with 15-seat vans; check winter routes and fares with the resort. Most visitors come by car or on group ski buses.
Is Silk Road the longest run in Korea? At 6.1 km it is described by some media as Korea's longest slope; the resort's own page simply states the length.
Is there a pass shared with O2 Resort? Yes — a season pass covering both Muju and O2 Resort in Taebaek, both Booyoung Group resorts, is sold.
