Muju & Southern Korea Snow Report — Deogyusan, Eden Valley

Snow report for Muju Deogyusan Resort and Eden Valley: base depth, 24-hour snowfall, seven-day forecast, temperature and wind with live cams. Check before leaving Daejeon, Daegu or Busan.

Muju, on Deogyusan, is the highest ski area in the south of the country and the usual choice for skiers from Daejeon, Gwangju and Daegu. The table gives current base depth, the past day of snowfall, the seven-day total, temperature and wind, refreshed hourly.

The south is milder, so opening and closing dates move around a lot from year to year. Check each resort for the exact dates.

Muju has a big height difference between the Seolcheonbong summit and the base, so the snow up top and at the bottom often differ on the same day.

Base depth is the snow on the ground now; 24-hour snowfall is what fell since yesterday.

Korean resorts build most of their pistes with snowmaking. A natural depth of 0 cm does not mean the slopes are closed, so check the cameras for the real surface.

On windy days gondolas and upper lifts are the first to stop.

How do I get to Muju? Most people drive. In season the resort often runs shuttle buses from major cities; check the resort notices for routes and booking.

Is the summit weather different from the base? Yes. Seolcheonbong at the top of the gondola is much colder and windier than the base.

What time should I check the cameras? Right after opening, when overnight grooming and snowfall show clearest.
