Where to Stay at Yongpyong: Dragon Valley Hotel, Condos, Bliss Hill Stay

Where to stay at Mona Yongpyong: Dragon Valley Hotel, the Tower, Villa and Green Pia condos, the premium condos, the Bliss Hill Stay hostel, or Hoenggye town below — compared, with booking timing.

Mona Yongpyong has a hotel, condos and a hostel on the resort itself, so most visitors stay inside the complex. The choice comes down to budget, whether you want a kitchen, and whether you will go down to Hoenggye for dinner.

First visit, short stay: Dragon Valley Hotel — The Chalet restaurant is on the ground floor and the slopes are out front.

Families and groups: Tower, Villa or Green Pia Condo — rooms with kitchens.

On a budget: Bliss Hill Stay hostel — the Jinbu Station shuttle stops there.

Local restaurants at night: Stay in Hoenggye, or stay on the resort and taxi down.

Dragon Valley Hotel — Feel: Resort hotel with restaurants. Best for: First-timers, couples, short stays. To the lifts: On-resort, by the slopes (not officially labelled ski-in/ski-out).

Tower / Villa / Green Pia Condo — Feel: Self-catering condos. Best for: Families, groups, longer stays. To the lifts: On-resort, walk or resort shuttle.

Premium condos (Birch Hill etc.) — Feel: Quiet, upmarket condos. Best for: Members, longer stays. To the lifts: On-resort, varies by building.

Bliss Hill Stay — Feel: Hostel. Best for: Budget and solo travellers. To the lifts: On-resort; Jinbu shuttle stop.

Hoenggye — Feel: Town below, many restaurants. Best for: Local food, drivers. To the lifts: Car or taxi.

Dragon Valley Hotel: A 190-room deluxe hotel (033-330-7111) overlooking the Yongpyong complex. The Chalet on the ground floor serves Korean and Western dishes and a breakfast buffet (₩38,000 adult), with the Korean-beef grill Sambuja 1983 opposite. Scenes from Winter Sonata were filmed at the resort. Best for: First-timers; people who want meals sorted in the hotel. Price: Official site: Deluxe Twin ₩400,000 rack rate, ₩175,000–280,000 online rate. To the lifts: On the resort, by the slopes.

Tower, Villa and Green Pia condos: Condo rooms with kitchens, the economical choice for families and groups. Tower Condo has the Haban breakfast buffet (₩27,000 adult), and the Tower Plaza food court — including the halal-certified Efes Kebab — is close. Best for: Families, groups, people who want to cook. Price: Check the resort's booking line (1588-0009) or website. To the lifts: On the resort; walk or resort shuttle.

Premium condos: Yongpyong Condo, Birch Hill, Verde Hill, Forest, Birch Hill Terrace and Apolis are the resort's premium condos. Birch Hill is a condo, not a hotel. Best for: Quiet, upmarket stays. Price: Check the resort's booking page. To the lifts: On the resort; varies by building.

Bliss Hill Stay: The on-resort hostel and the cheapest way to sleep at Yongpyong. The twice-daily guest shuttle between Jinbu Station and the resort stops here too. Best for: Budget travellers and solo skiers. Price: Check the resort's booking page. To the lifts: On the resort; Jinbu guest shuttle stops here.

Hoenggye (Daegwallyeong-myeon): The town below Yongpyong and Alpensia, with Hwangtae Hoegwan, Doam Sikdang, Napjak Sikdang and Daegwallyeong Hanu Town. Intercity buses from Dong Seoul stop at Hoenggye terminal. Best for: People who want local restaurants at night; drivers. Price: Varies by property. To the lifts: Car or taxi to the resort.

Yongpyong room reservations: 1588-0009; resort main line 033-335-5757.

The Jinbu Station shuttle is for resort guests only — you show your reservation — and its times follow the KTX timetable.

The Rainbow zone closes at 16:00, Gold at 16:30, Green at 17:00. Staying on the resort makes an early cable-car start easy.

Yongpyong opened on November 21 in 2025-26. The 2026-27 opening date has not been announced.

The Seoul shuttle runs November 27, 2026 to March 1, 2027 and the Incheon Airport shuttle December 7, 2026 to February 12, 2027; staying within those dates makes transfers easy.

Seollal (Lunar New Year) 2027 falls on Sunday, February 7, with the holiday running February 6–8. That weekend fills resort rooms and shuttles first and jams the roads back to Seoul, so book it before anything else.

How many nights? Three or four nights covers the 28 slopes and four zones: one day for the cable car and Rainbow zone, one for Gold and Silver, and a rest day in Gangneung or at the sheep farm.

Can I manage without a car? Yes. Arrive on the airport or Seoul shuttle and walk around the complex; you only need a taxi for Hoenggye or Jinbu.

Is there ski-in/ski-out lodging at Yongpyong? The resort does not use that term. Dragon Valley Hotel and the condos are on the resort and you can walk to the lifts, but distances vary by building.

What is the cheapest place to stay? Bliss Hill Stay, the on-resort hostel.

Is Birch Hill a hotel? No — the official site lists Birch Hill as a premium condo.
